BANK PLAN MARK UP - 2/9/11:

Loose Constructionist VS. Strict Constructionist -2/9/11

Own definition:
CCQS:
Loose Construction:
Federal government may take actions
in changing laws assuming that it should
be fair, even if it's not stated in the
Constitution.
I think that this may give
the government an advantage,
but hopefully, they won't take
advantage of it.
Strict Construction:
Federl government may take actions in
changing laws if Constitution states
if they can.
Just in general, sometimes you
can't just go by the rules,
you can just assume that
the things is right to do.

Class Work. 2/10/11: Summarize Hamilton and Jefferson's quotes.
Hamilton's: Every power of the Government can be taken if it's necessary, it doesn't have to be stated in the Constitution for whatever laws they want to pass. He's a loose constructionist.
Jefferson's: The government can might as well say that the action is convenient rather than "necessary". This can lead to abuse of power. He's a strict constructionist.

HOMEWORK: 2/10/11: Graphic Organizer: Whiskey Rebellion:

HOMEWORK: 2/10/11: How is the Whiskey Rebellion both similar and different from what is happening in Egypt?
The Whiskey Rebellion is similiar to what is happening in Egypt, because people are protesting that it's unfair what's being to them. And with this, their president decides to take violent actions and send soldiers to calm the protesters. What is different from the two rebellion is that George Washington was only using his superiority to scare the farmers, when the president of Egypt actually harms the protesters.
